Chilliwack River, September 30th 2012
« on: September 30, 2012, 09:15:01 PM »

Went out for the evening bite and got to the lower canal around 5:00pm.

I had 6 fishermen to my right fishing long leaders and depth of 6 feet and making "swooshing" sound at the end of their drifts.

To my left were 6 spanish speaking fishermen fishing from shore without waders.

Guys on the right would snag a chum every 10 minutes or so and guys on left were snaggin bottom almost every casts.

As soon as the sun vanished behind the mountains, I was able to entice 3 cohos to take my roe. Only able to land one though.

Good job CohoMan !!! I'm surprised you were able to stand between these fellows while they, ahem, attempted to fish and not become so discouraged as to quit. Well done on the coho and its great to see a few trickling in. Thanks for the report !!!

I had enough space that it did not bother me.

Was out at first light till dark in the lower river. My buddy and I nearly walked the whole thing :D He managed one hatch coho on his first cast. That was the only one we got :P In total we landed 3
adult springs, 2 jacks, hooked and lost 3 coho and landed 3 chum all coloured, springs were clean to chrome. I kept one spring jack for tomorrow nights dinner. It was very slow and the bite was good for an hour first light and around 5pm for an hour. I also managed 2 white fish, my first ever on the vedder since I started fishing it 14 years ago :o Was a little shocked to say the least.
