If you got an hour and a half to kill, check out "Garbage Island". There are three parts, get a barf bucket before you start watching part three.

Interestingly, I've definitely noticed that once cleaned up, an area stays relatively clean for a while

Tis is so true. Three years ago I began picking up the garbage on about a kilometer stretch of my street. At first I would get one to two bagfulls every five to six days. Now, I'm "lucky" if I get a quarter of a bag and the street always look clean and garbage free. While not a river, the concept seems to apply. Keep an area clean and less people are likely to litter in it. Cheers.

It's not just the cleanup society that picks garbage up on the vedder river . When I'm fishing  the river ill take along a garbage bag and pick up garbage also. I think all respectable fishermen should do the same .

Very good and thanks to the many others that do the same while they are out fishing.
