Carps

I just start out to learn fishing, my goal is to learn fly fishing and light tackle spinning. lately I saw lot of people around the global who crazy about carp fishing, are there any of you guys use light tackle for those kind of fishing?

There are a few places you can catch carp, but its not one of the primary fish species targeted.

Most people fish for salmon or trout here, but carp, bass, and black crappie are all available, as well as others, depending where you go fishing. There is a pretty good list of fishing locations on the main FishingWithRod page.(Not the forum)

Thanks Suther, I don't really into carps but just interesting to know can light tackle also used to take them because I saw many youtube video shown people use big long rod.

In burnaby lake i use my ultra light with 4 lb line.But they fight quite hard so i let my drag realy loose.just freeline bread around weeds.But i dont use worms because there are alot of bass.
