deep cycle battery

i am using  a deep cycle interstate  SRM 24 battery right now to run my  11 foot inflatable with a minn kota traxxis 55.. i was wondering if there is a better battery , maybe more powerfull one, so i can go the whole weekend without recharging my battery. i was told the SRM 24 would be my best option. any input would be great thanks harry

Yea that's a good battery I don't think you can expect to get 2 full days from any deep cycle with a large electric. Im Just curious if you know how to properly charge a deep cycle?

Edit: by 2 full days I should have clarified two 6-8 hours of trolling. I can milk one battery  almost a whole week camping at a lake fly fishing....

What you should do is buy a second battery of the same size. That would be the cheapest option for your current intended requirements and you'd now have 2 batteries extending your fishing/trolling. You could put one on the charger while the other is in use (if you have power where you're fishing).  Or, if you could go back in time with a time machine, buy a battery with a higher amp hour rating. I'm guessing your battery is a group 24? A group 27 or group 31 should have higher amp hour ratings but they are heavier and more expensive.

I run a 50 Maxxum and bring two group 27 batteries with me. I bring my charger and charge one while using the other. Never have a problem as I can have the one on the charger ready to go the next day. If you carry two with a charger you will never have a problem unless you go somewhere without an electrical outlet. Than you need to troll less and anchor more. I am a flyfisherman who like to do both types of fishing. The other option is mixing in some rowing while trolling.

Optima blue top batteries.  They have ones that are for starting, ones that are for accessories and ones that are for dual purpose.  Research them.   Lordco can get Optima's.  Go in and ask them when their trade show specials are, you will save lots of cash!!!

Red tops are for everyday vehicles, yellow tops are for vehicles with heavy electrical loads such as winches and huge stereo systems, and the blue tops are for marine use. I love these batteries damn near impossible to kill and have a lifetime warranty as well. Any performance shop carries them as well, best price I ever found on a yellow top was at sport trucks unlimited in Langley and it was a good $30 cheaper than the next guy.

Also the case colour has meaning. Light gray deep cycle,  dark gray starting.
I use group 31 yellow top for all my solar and inverter installs. They seem to hold up well.
