GPS

So, I've got one and I use it to find halibut locations, for safety purposes and navigational purposes. It works to get the right speed while trolling.

Anyone else got a view on using them ?

If you just want a basic GPS with a couple of cool features, anything in the eTrex line wil serve you well...I got the best one I could afford, The eTrex Legend, has a few more features than the cheaper models, but all of them will get the job done, one of the main differences between the Legend and the cheaper ones is the addition of a base map (tells you where water and land stop and end). Also, you can download more detailed maps.

anyway,      do you think using a fishfinder is cheating?    I have  one. I'm  thinking about  a GPS but not sure of the price of them, they sound expensive, but I haven't started really checking prices for them. or  really don't know   what to look for    in their  features. you only   really need them on the chuck,.....   true?

Anyone who thinks using a GPS is somehow 'cheating' probably doesn't fish very much or even leave the double wide too often. ::)

funny I was just thinking the same thing about people who make snide remarks on forums for no apparent reason.
