Francis Lake, June 2nd 2013
« on: June 03, 2013, 08:24:49 PM »

Arrived at 900am on a beautiful morning one fellow in a belly boat already there. Tried chronies for about an hour with a couple hits none landed. Around 1030am another group of three showed up.  They were trolling with spoons and were constantly hitting fish.  Nothing for us for a couple more hours then my partner pick a small one up trolling a spratly.  The skies turned ominous so we headed back to the launch. Had the boat loaded just as the downpour hit. Not a great day but enjoyable nonetheless.

Thanks for the report Dave! I have contemplated visiting Francis a few times, but given my schedule(working 80plus hours a week to pay for school) I have tended to stick to my regular stomping grounds.

Just wondering though, how is it getting there(ie the road)? I have been up to Weaver lots, is the road comparable?

Give a man a fish and he will eat for a day.  Teach him how to fish and he will sit in a boat and drink beer all day.

Fairly comparable but with a lot more ditches (at least last time I went). It is a lot easier to get turned around though as there is more logging and side trails there.
