Hi guys, I looked at Rodney's articles and realized that I need some things asked/cleared!

Info I got so far
-Tidal Fraser River(Lower) for now, because it's early, and close to my home
-Needs a fishing license(tidal) with a salmon stamp
-4 is the quota, and only one of those 4 can be +50cm

So firstly,

For today and tomorrow, high tides are at about 6pm, so best time to fight would be around 3~6pm?(referred to http://www.tides.info/?command=view&location=New+Westminster%2C+British+Columbia)

Secondly,

Lower Tidal Fraser River is pretty close to where I live(I live in Burnaby/Coqui. area), but I'm not too sure about where I should plan my first trip to.

◾Dump Bar, Richmond
◾Dyke Road (between No. 4 and 5 Road), Richmond
◾Garry Point Park, Richmond
◾Imperial Landing, Richmond
◾Middle Arm, Richmond
◾No. 2 Road Pier, Richmond
◾No. 3 Road Pier, Richmond
◾North Arm, Richmond

These are locations suggested by Rodney, and they're all within 20~40min on Google Maps. Please suggest me where I should go for my first trip, during this early season.

The daily quota of pink salmon is four per day. There are no maximum size limit for pink salmon. The size limit you are referring to applies to the daily quota of chinook salmon.

Correct with the tide timing, anytime at 2 or 3pm should be good today.

That regulation is for chinook which expired Aug 31st. For pinks there is a quota of 4 with minimum size limit of 30cm, no maximum size .

Where is this place?

Looks like South Richmond. Probably the Dyke road you list above. IMHO anywhere in the lower Fraser around South Richmond is a good choice for early season pinks as large numbers will not likely have moved upriver yet.

I'm probably going to head to Dyke Road for my first salmon fishing trip.

But, would it be more better to go as far down the river closer to ocean as possible, or is it really just dependent on where the fish is(luck)?

I have seen guys limited out in Pattullo Bridge area, Derby Reach, Poplar Bar etc. So it all depends on the timing and you catching a large school(s) blowing by.

You don't have to go to Richmond area, Pattullo area or any area of New West should be closer to your home. Fishes are moving thru.

Not sure how the access is.  Don't think it would be possible to haul a 8lb salmon up over the rail.  Better options are Sapperton Landing or Brownsville Bar.  Is there water access by the boardwalk?
