What an idiot Harper is. You want public support for huge increase in Oil tanker traffic in BC and you cut the same agencies that take the lead in case of a spill.

Scientists from other departments, such as Environment Canada and Natural Resources Canada, were also doing some new research in recent months on the behaviour of diluted bitumen, the product from Canada’s oilsands industry, in water to help oil companies prepare for environmental disasters.

We get cuts to services - BUT - we get to subsidize something the oil barons should be doing at arms length. This kind of footsie cronyism with big oil and utter waste of our tax dollars to an already profitable industry. That makes my stomach roil with acid. That's yours and my damn money, given to huge corporate donors that they're obviously in bed with. .However, it seems there's a new albatross every week as a nice scarf or tie and popularity is diminishing. Hopefully we get a new government with the testicular gumption to dismantle these idiotic policies. Time to hit the reset button on these neanderthals in 2015.

Harper is doing all the cuts as he wants to pay off the Federal credit card.
Over spending has us Canadians owing to much.
No more people in lighthouses.
Coast guard closures,marine traffic offices closed & put in one place,near Victoria,WW2 / Korean War vets have their local offices closed & now have to travel farther to the new office..
But they spent big $$$ on 4 subs that need fixing all the time or another big $$$ spent on east & westcoast ship building.
Plus billions are going out to other countries because of war & citizens fleeing to camps & also earthquake or hurricane victims...
Don't know the math of it all but the question is are they trimming the fat or are they trimming into very needed services ( cutting off the meat as well )

Guess we have to be like Colorado but in our case charge Federal tax & when selling pot.
More tax would definitely roll into the prov & Feds pockets.
