As I understand it BC Hydro, WLAP and the Kwaykwitlem (sp) first nation are investigating the feasibility of reintroducing sockeye to the system.  As I understand it it would have something to do with either taking existing fish from the reservoir and allowing them past the dam and transporting them back over the dam at the end of the migration.  or it is to reintroduce fish from another system into the Coquitlam watershed.  The last report I heard is that the GVRD is against this proposal because they are concerned about the impact of decaying salmon carcasses in the drinking water system.  If it happens it probably won't happen soon and the costs will be high.  That is my understanding but I am sure there is someone else out there with better information than I have.  Cheers.
