I've bought some krill from an unnamed shop last season which was too dried and flaked apart.

Dunno of cured krill is normally that fragile but I think I got a bad batch.

I hear krill has been gaining popularity over the last few years.

I know pet shops carry frozen krill but where can I get it fresh and is fresh that much better than frozen?

go buy some frozen krill from a pet shop thaw and drain it then add some fire-cure to it, then put it in a bag with some coarse/rock salt and drain any liquid that comes from it.

The krill I get from Riverside Fly and Tackle in poco holds up really well to repeated casts.

This a great way to prepare many different types of bait. In the days when we were fishing the salt water we would even put our precut herring strips or cut plugs in a salt brine overnite. They lasted much longer on the hook. Also I am sure that that little bit of colour it would really make the krill stand out. Great idea zap.

I frequently get krill from the pet shop and do the same thing, dye them pink. purple. orange.
I take them to lakes for trout.

Went to riverside and picked up a couple bags. Looks good. Hope the trout like it.. Been a while since I caught anything since the steelhead season has been so difficult.

I get all my krill from First light fly and tackle. Always works good and its a great product

Both riverside and first light take great care in preparing the bait they sell
