I have noticed that people are excited about the expected returns of sockeye for this year. In guidebc.com under reports the return for 2010 was 100 million fish and this years expected return to be about 67 million fish. That is a drop of almost 1/3 of the brood stock. Is this the way to manage this resource?

I believe the returns in 2010 were 30 to 36 million Fraser sockeye.
(I think the estimate was 30 million).

The returns for this year are expected to be around 72 million.
