How'z yer editing?
« on: May 07, 2014, 08:19:07 PM »

Was perusing the "2014 Fishing Adventures" magazine published by BC Outdoors and decided to read the "Vancouver Coast and Mountains" section. Here are some things that I learned...

Re the Vedder River: "The number of steelhead caught annually hovers between 13,000-15,000"

Re the Chehalis River "New anglers should stick to the lower reaches, especially where it meets the Fraser River"

Re the Pitt River " All the usual suspects swim here, salmon, steelhead and 5 species of trout"

Though not to be too critical. :) In a large publication like this, with that level of detail, there are bound to be some editting gaffes.

those 13000-15000 fish caught are more like 5000 all caught 3-5 times lol

"Re the Vedder River: "The number of steelhead caught annually hovers between 13,000-15,000"  I pointed this out to one of the BC Outdoors magazine reps at my local fishing store a few weeks ago and there is supposed to be a correction published.
Another gem was for the Fraser River - most popular method for fishing for sockeye was drift fishing. ::)

There was a time when they actually had fishing editors and writers.
