Salmon migration map & fishing calendar
« on: June 06, 2014, 09:28:45 AM »

Has anyone come across a map of salmon migration for the different species that shows what areas of BC they are in and corresponding months?

I'm trying to plan my summer vacation time and figure out where I should go for fishing, and what options are available (offshore boat, inshore boat, beach casting, river). EG. If I have a some time off June 12-15, July 8-9, and August 10-14, where's the best fishing at those times?

I would suggest calling local tackle shops but there are a lot members on this forum from all over who may chime in with updates.

I guess you could get something with general timings but there are many factors that seem to dictate where and when the fish migrate through. You can get a good idea of what's going on ocean wise through the sportfishing bc website. Boggles my mind the amount of information there is on that site in regards to ocean fishing and real time reports as the year goes on. If you are thinking about going to a certain area at a certain time the "search" function over there and here for that matter will allow you to compile your own map. The fun in my eyes is doing the research and having it pay off. I used it last year to get ideas for fishing Douglas channel coho with bucktails and we had a blast.

Good luck
