Thompson River, September 12th & 13th 2014
« on: September 14, 2014, 11:33:26 AM »

Short report: Fished one area on the 12th with blades and the both of us got into a few chinooks ranging from 10-15 pounds with a few bigger ones breaking us off. Once it was dark we drove down to one hole in the canyon that has been producing very well this year. The moon was really bright all night so no need for flashlights. Not a soul around and the only sound was the river and the passing trains. After a few peaceful hours the sun slowly made its appearance. Fishing was really slow (well maybe 10 jacks between the two of us and one sockeye on a prawn) all morning. Once the sun came out on the water we couldn't keep the jacks off. Then a group of bigger chinooks came in and we ended the day around 10:45 with a double header with both fish being in the high teens. Nothing like fresh red jacks for dinner.
