That would be fine, it's what we used in the judge boat for dragon boat and meets the transport canada requirements.

Did you know that you can make a bailer out of a four-litre rigid plastic bottle (useful for small open boats)? This is an inexpensive way to meet the requirements and have an efficient bailer on board.

Follow these steps:

• rinse the bottle thoroughly;
• secure the lid;
• cut off the bottom; and
• cut along the side with the handle.
