2000 bucks spent for this rescue probably.  That's one expensive fishing trip for the tax payer.

Relax G-Ratt, what you may not be aware of is that Hotrod fishes exclusive water in which a newbie would even look like a seasoned Vet!

Among the harvester down river, there are some that do it as a sport. Not unlike our sockeye fishing.

Shee-it. I wonder if it is the guys I saw this morning over there. It wasn't an island at 8am when I left, but the water was rising - and was a fair bit higher than yesterday at that spot.

My God. I'd be too ashamed to call search and rescue. I'd either man up and strip down and cross the river or just bunker down for the night.  Probably wouldn't be either... have enough common sense not to get stuck.

The craziest part was that some guys were actually still fishing while search & rescue as well as about a dozen firemen and paramedics were ready and waiting.

and if as reported ....sickening.
 
Being reported on BCTV that several anglers were caught by rising river levels on the Cap. This on its own isn't unusual, but what is beyond belief is that, while arrangements were being made to shut down the spillway and while the rescue teams were setting up for a swift water rescue, they continued to fish, virtually ignoring the rescue crew or their directions!
Sure hope that additional fish is worth risking the rescuers lives !
