So with all the recent bad post on here about negative experiences recently at the Stave, I wanted to take a moment to reflect on a positive experience today.
Due to responsibilities out of my control I hit the stave about 1130am today.
Missed the tides but it is what it is.
The rain was coming down pretty hard so I bundled up and hiked into my favourite spot. While walking past te toilet bowl what do I see?
About 6 fishermen all short floating ethically an 2 guys spin casting lures.
No flossers in sight. As I moved around the corner I tried my luck upstream of 2 guys who appeared to be short floating jigs, just as I was. They appeared to be friends and were laughing and smiling and catching fish te whole time I tried that area, about 20 minutes.
I didn't land any fresh fish so I decided to move on to another spot. Once I got there I was alone for about 200 ft, and it was fish on after fish on for about an hour before another fisherman showed up. He was an older gentlemen and came over ad briefly chatted me up. We exchanged some friendly banter back and forth and he moved down about 25 feet from me and proceeded to short float what I think was wool?
With no flossers in sight or spooking the run the two of is enjoyed about another hour of fishing and enjoying ourselves with many fish caught, before I had to leave.
When I left I said goodbye and good luck, and he said good day to me.
All in all, despite the poor weather, probably the most positive day ever on the Stave.
