Pinks in Campbell River
« on: February 14, 2015, 09:00:57 PM »

Have a golf tournament in Campbell River Sept 11-13 and was hoping to maybe get some fishing in as well.

I know the pinks return during odd years here in Vancouver and it is opposite in northern BC but does anyone know whether CR is odd or even? Is it far enough north to switch to even years or is it the same as us?

Cheers,
Dan

Ya, they have a return every year.  They were early this year, so by that time in September fresh fish were the minority, but if the run starts and peaks when it normally does, early September should still see some good fishing.

for most rivers on the Island the pink run is done by mid-sept. Most fish will be in spawning condition. Mid-Sept should provide some beach opportunities for trout and coho.
