Fraser July 19th

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Want to fish without wader so I first tried Seabird Island Bar at 3:00PM, not a thing and saw no one hooking anything. Saw a black bear and a deer to fill in the boredom.  Left at 5:30PM to Pipeline Bar and met a few friends there who reported slow action the whole day.  Past 6:30 I hooked into a large spring which took the line across the river.  Managed to hold it and maintained control after 20 minutes or so. Turned out to be a red beauty around 30 lbs.  Fished the same bar on the 17th as Aurora reported in his thread, hooked into a sockeye, then hooked into a monster after Aurora left which cleared my fireline into the backing and I lost it after 5 minutes or so.  This is a really snaggy bar, so prepare to bring more supplies if you want to try it.  It seems like sockeye hookups are quite rare lately in the few bars I fished.  Hope we don't have another slow start like last year.
Tight line to all.
