Minister of Fisheries and Oceans
« on: July 20, 2004, 08:35:09 AM »

Sad news, in my humble opinion, to see Prime Minister Martin reappoint Geoff Regan as Minister of Fisheries and Oceans. This so called leader of the Ministry has failed miserably in dealing with illegal fisheries in the Fraser River in spite of being contacted by both the Fraser Valley Salmon Society and the Sports Fishing Defence Alliance. He does not even have the courtesy of replying to correspondence. It is a sad day for both sports fishers and for law and order, which does not exist on the Fraser. He has not done his job yet is reappointed as a Minister. Fishers who voted Liberal are now getting their reward !

I have now vented but don't feel any better.  :'(

Hopefully we only have to put up with him for a year before the next election is called and we bury the liberals once and for all.

Has there ever been a "good" Minister of Fisheries and Oceans ?? Aside from a brief tenure by David Anderson and John Fraser, all the appointments have come from the East.

Guys keep piling up the evidence, hopefully we can take another run at Regan.Start letting all your fishing friends know that a protest may be in order and it will be much more effective the more bodies present. Those that stand on the side lines may see their childrens chance to angle on the Fraser gone forever. >:(
