Tunkwa Lake, April 28th - 30th 2016
« on: May 06, 2016, 11:46:10 AM »

Last week we spent a couple of nights at Tunkwa Lake and it was a great time as always. On the evening of arrival we did pretty well. There were fish jumping all over the place and caught plenty until dark. The following day was a bit tough because of the wind but we found pockets of fish, so every hour or so we'd get into 4 or 5 nice ones. On the last day we went out with Al from the resort to film an episode. The weather was more stable and eventually we found a spot that consistently produced. Lots of chironomids were emerging that day. All the fish were caught in 4 to 10 feet of water. Nights were still pretty cold so it took awhile for water temperature to get up during the day, fishing was better in the afternoon.

The weather looks great in the next week, fishing should be pretty awesome for anyone who is heading up there... :)

Here is the video from the trip:

Nice report, looks like fun. I'm planning to be heading up there a couple days during next week, hope it stays productive.
