Hi guys,

I may get a power boat this weekend to try my luck from Horseshe Bay -- but I'm totally ignorant on boat fishing -- is there any books / web information recommended so that I can get prepared before going?

Downriggers, trolling, etc..... seems strangers to me.  Thanks for all your help!!!

You're probably thinking of renting a boat from Sewells Marina.

It's pricey and with Salmon fishing being so slow locally you have little chance of any success as a newbie.

If you wait a few weeks until more fish are schooling @ the mouths of the Fraser it'll be easier/more rewarding for you to learn.

I would suggest you team up with someone who is familiar with the intricacies of trolling. Alternatively you can mooch live herrings. All you really need is of course live herrrings, mooching leaders and weights.  It's alot cheaper than loading up on hoochies, flashers, spoons and other trolling paraphernalia which you may never use again. That's my opinion anyways
