Chilliwack Lake
« on: September 16, 2016, 09:26:28 AM »

Hi everyone,

I'm hoping for a little help before I take my brother-in-law out fishing at Chilliwack Lake this weekend.  His only real fishing experience was last year's pink salmon run so I'm hoping to give him an outing that won't be too much of a disappointment by comparison.   I've never fished up there myself but I have a few ideas based on Rod's article on Chilliwack Lake.

I was wondering if anyone has been up there lately?  What's working?  Any special considerations?

My plan was to run a Gibbs mini-troll flasher rig and a wedding band or rooster tail.  Does that sound like an decent approach?

I was up a couple of weeks ago. Your set up sounds pretty good to me. I had good luck with a silver and red Gibbs croc trolled about 20' down near a creek mouth. I noticed an osprey grab something in the middle of the lake at the end of the day too bAnd sure enough there were fish rising there on the way back to the ramp.
