Campbell River Grizz
« on: May 18, 2019, 02:00:40 PM »

From Facebook: Cermaq Canada

Our Little Bear Hatchery, located north of Campbell River is living up to its name. In the last two weeks, our employees have seen a cougar, as well as a momma black bear and her cub. Today - our employees spotted this big beauty foraging along the river. This is the second grizzly in less than a year as we had another big fella near the hatchery last fall. Who says Vancouver Island doesn't have grizzlies? Thanks to our employee Frank for sending the pic in.

I think those grizz can probably find a pretty good living on Vancouver Island eating Black Bears.  There are lots of them and Grizz do eat  BBs.

for a while BC Co service was shooting the grizzlies that crossed onto the North Island.

Grizzly swimming to the north Island from the mainland is a good indication populations on the mainland are in good shape!
