First solo trip salmon fishing . Need advice
« on: August 27, 2021, 09:33:18 AM »

Hi Everyone,

I am from AB and I plan to do the 1st fall river salmon fishing in October in BC. I think of landing in either Vancouver or Abbotsford since the flight ticket is pretty cheap right now. Does anyone can give me some insights about where to stay and which river to fish? I heard about Vedder river but my friend said it is gonna be super busy and chaos lol. I am willing to drive or walk to avoid overcrowd area so I just need some directions :D. Thank you everyone.

Riverbend guest house BnB. On the vedder river. Great people. Jay knows the river. Easy enough to get away from the crowds if you want.

Do a google search for Vedder River accommodation and Chilliwack River accommodation.  Vedder River Inn showed up and it is a few minutes walk from the river.  There are a few other places too.  If you are willing to walk, you will find lots of water and fish move in the morning and evening.  That said, spots are busy for only one reason.  Early Oct. is a good time.
