Vedder and Peg leg September 4th
« on: September 04, 2004, 06:09:24 PM »

Was on the Vedder at first light trying for some early coho on the fly.  None were seen.  Went to peg leg on the drive in side. Like last report had a fish on and near shore my leader snapped. Finally decided that my whole role of 20lb maxima must be faulty. Switched to 30lb and tried again, 1 hour later hooked and bonked a 17lb red spring. Lesson learned! Water is up high so people can't drive in- good.  No sockeye hooked by anyone. Only 10 fishers on the whole bar.

Wonder how the motorhomes will get of the first island if the water comes up any more.

Decided to move up river and hit two nice reds one for me one for my buddy (12 and 15)

Update on the motorhomes.

I was just at Peg an hour ago checking out the action. Some dutch farmer came out in a full size tractor and pulled all the motorhomes across the bar. All of the stranded parties were all AMERICANS...typical. I wish I would of had my camera too.

Again, while it might be fun to watch a guy's motorhome slowly fill with water, it's not really the human spirit to allow it to happen.  Good on this guy.  ( I hope they gave him some $$ as a token of appreciation)

Nope - No fishing for me. Renos at home.  New flooring.  Good to see you and TR helped a guy out too.  That comment from me was a quote from another site.  What was wrong with the boat that you guys helped?

I'm really surprised more people don't die every year on this river.
