I started to think about it and 36 inches did seem long and then I did the math on a fish calculator and it was indicating a 18lb'er!  So for all you doubting thomas's I dug thru the dam trash today and pulled out the taped measure again.

It read 35.5 INCHES!  I'll admit tho thats not quite true...its my neighbors tape measure (well its mine after he left it in my yard!).  Anyhow the old guy is so cheap he hole punches pennies to make washers and I just noticed his tape measure (which I am now returning) starts at 12 inches!  It obviously broke and he put a new tang on it.

Sorry gang my bad...35.5 less 12 equals a 23.5 inch fish.  Pretty dam respectable regardless!  I'll take it!

Gooey, what model Conquest have you got?  I bought a 200 earlier this year and just wondering what to load it with, ie. line.  What's your ticket to success?

i fished it with 12lb main on a 3113mb for steelies and switched over to 10lb for the coho.  I do a lot of hardware fishing for coho so the extra castability of 10 seems to make sense, I can cast a 3# blue fox around 75 feet with no weight...no problem!
