Hook Sizes
« on: October 09, 2004, 04:33:57 PM »

I wanted to know what people have found to be most productive for each type of fishing (this is only for single hooks tied to the leader, not spoons and spinner, etc):
- float fishing
- bottom-bouncing
- bar-fishing
- sturgeon fishing
- mooching
- rigger trolling (with chovies)
- rigger trolling (with hoochies)
- halibut fishing (including circle hooks)

This may help people, such as myslef, solve one of the more subtle issues with hooks choice for the style of fishing.

It really depends on water conditions. High water, larger hooks. Downsize if the visibility is low and clear. I usually use 1-1/0 for most of my river fishing.
