Squamish October 17th and more...
« on: October 18, 2004, 08:29:20 AM »

Seems it's still a tad early for constant action. There are definately fish around, hooked into a few and lost them after their usual screaming runs. Quite a few guys around, but it was a sunday...Give it a week or so more, should be very good then. Water conditions were fairly low, but had risen about 4-6" during the day, and quite silty..as usual for the Squamish, with wind all day. Most fish I saw hooked had fin bit, not too many legal hookups. Also there are nets in the river around Judd Rd area.

Just to add...went to the Stave on saturday with my son to let him try out his new rod. I see attitudes haven't improved with some people.:( When you have losers telling a 10yr old they would cut his line because he came close to casting where he was throwing his snagging gear, the line has definately been crossed.>:( Poor kid didn't want to tell me what he said until after we left, because he was afraid dad might send big mouth for a cool dip to adjust the attitude. By  the way, he did manage to hook and land a couple dogs and make dad proud anyways, despite moronic intervention...

Some people just don't get it, kids and fishing go hand in hand and to spout off to jr. is wrong, maybe a tip or two would be better. A swim would have been in order >:(
