So, that's what happens when you hook a couple of coho and post the pix on the internet.... 10 of your buddies quickly take over your spot on the next day....

I got up at 8am, turned the cel phone on and almost instantly it rang and Steelhead King asked, "Where are you? You better get down here quickly!"

So after a hearty breakfast I slowly made my way down to the river, must give the other guys a chance first.... When I arrived, I found gman, Steelhead King and LukeYVR already fishing. FishOn, Fishersak, TtotheE and his dad joined us soon after I started.

With that many hot rods in the water, you would think no coho can escape. Well, think again...

Today's result

Steelhead King: 2 bull trout released.
gman: 2 bull trout released.
fishersak: 1 bull trout released.
me: 1 hatchery coho jack kept. <edited - as well as long-line released a bull trout on my third cast >
TtotheE: Goose egg.
TtotheE's dad: 1 adult coho lost.
FishOn: Goose egg.
LukeYVR: Goose egg.

It rained pretty hard during the whole time. Water clarity has gone down slightly since yesterday due to the rain, but still very fishable. We did not see many chum salmon rolling at all today, kind of disappointing. The odd fish jumped every now and then.

lol.... I think TtotheE chucked those lovely sacs into the water..... I gave the fish to him at the end, charity fish.

Actually, I caught that fish pretty late, around noonish. I was already packed up earlier but then TtotheE senior hooked that coho and made me stay again.

I didn't get a goose egg Rod, I snagged a perfectly good bar rig setup consisting of weight, two spreader bars and hooks .  It was one of those rare fishing outings when I return with more gear. Also, you forgot to mention the 20' log fishersak reeled in. That sucker must have weighed over 100lbs.

Ah yes.... I think fishersak purposely swung that long log down to where I was just after I landed that jack so I wouldn't disturb the rest of the school for a few minutes....

Do u guys get alot of snags? thx

Ivan, it really depends on where you are fishing. Generally, most of the snags are close to shore as the river bed is composed of mud and sand. There might be the odd broken pylons or various trapped wooden debris also. The best way to avoid snags is to head down to a spot where you want to fish during low tide, and take note on where the major structures are. Knowing where the structure is, may also help you to find the fish. Just like in the smaller tributaries, the fish will gather around structures as well.
