Fished middle and lower! NAda! October 30th

Didnt see many fish around,  lots of ugly chum but did not see a spring or a coho landed or as far as I could see hooked.  :-\ >:( Was anyone fishing the lower part of cottonwood?  Looked like there was some action there, especially on far side.  Let me know.  Lots of snow on Coq coming down and going back up.  Few fished tailed semis going up THE HILL!

Me and my brother both hooked coho today. We also hooked into lots of chums most of them were in decent shape...a few white bellies. Water was in good shape. Were fishing the upper river.

Fished lower river- very windy and tough to fish. Tried until about 10:30 before I called it quits.

Did not hook into anything today. Both my cousins got into fish today- all wild though!!!!!

Anyone try the Chehalis yet- just want to know the water conditions.

Starting to wonder about several of the so called reports on this site!  Are people playing games or actually telling the truth? Met a few guys today who mentioned that there are several people on FWR that like to shoot the bull just to screw around with others!  Kind of a drag when you drive a distance to fish and then find out some guys are stretching the truth!!  :-\ :(  Although I know that there are a few very reliable sportsmen out there so am not directing this towards the whole!

Ya, because strangers' words are always much more reliable when told in person.

here's the thing. Fish move, especially migratory salmon. I guess you wouldn't call this a report board, more of a story board as people are simply sharing their fishing days with others. One day the fish are at one spot, they are most likely not on the following day. Out of the 15 or so outings to the Vedder this season, I would only consider two of those days fantastic. Some days it's just hard to find the fish. Can't find the fish, can't catch them, that's fishing.

Bill,

I do think most of the reports are accurate.  The vedder is a big river and the fish could be anywhere at any time,  get lucky and hit it right and you could have a great day.  More people post about their successes rather than their failures.  There are only a few on this board that will post a report regardless of what they caught.  I personally rarely post any reports but I don't mind sharing info when I'm at the river or on private e-mail.

This year has been a very strange one indeed.  Last Friday was my best day and I hooked into 7 coho and landed all but one.  Last year I averaged 15 hookups on every trip.  Don't feel too bad,  I was out there today (saturday) and didn't hook any myself.  Every year is different,  the water conditions are drastically different from last year and the course of the river is different as well.  I didn't spend the time exploring as I usually do which is one of the reasons why I've had a disappointing season so far.  I do have some sympathy for you having to drive so far in nasty weather,  but hey the good news is that the Thompson is open!!!

I fished today on the river I told you to go to. Seemed to work out fine for me. I wasn't kidding when I said it was goinna be good there. Well, better luck next time. Here's a pic of the bounty.

Appreciate the comments,  understand that the river can be tough to read! I have had some good days! Hope that the people who post false reports are few.  Even with the bad roads a day on the river with a buddy is fun!  Catching is extra.  We did have a good time and considering what we drove through to get down and back the weather was great down there. 

There seems to be varying reports regarding the Chehalis!  Spoke to a couple of guys who said the river was low and not worth fishing, but reports show it as being hot!  As I know nothing about ht eChehalis what is happenening with it?  And yes it is great to hear that the Thompson is open, may give it a try if the weather doesnt get TOO cold!
