Cap November 19th
« on: November 19, 2004, 02:45:51 PM »

Not much has changed. Excellent water conditions with good visibility. Fishing pressure has dropped off considerably. Most of the snaggers have stayed home. Saw one marginally chrome coho bonked. Talked to a guy who claimed he caught a 47 lb. spring and a 13 lb. coho last week.

forty seven poind, or a four to seven pound chinook?

The guy claimed that it was 47 lbs. You have to take what he says with a grain of salt. He's the same guy who claims that he catches limits of chrome cohos in February !

so are all the fish in the top section of the river now, or are there monsters still coming in from sea - and therefore throughout the system?

Anything is possible but I am always very skeptical too.  I have fished the cap pretty hard over the last 5 years and I have not seen any number of chrome fish in february.  And in terms of a late run, havent bumped into any of those fish either.

In terms of knowing where to look...there is barely 10km of river to fish on the cap and I can't see any run of fish on any river sticking to one specific pool...if they are in they will be found thru out the river after all, they all come from the hatchery right!
