silver bullet feb 7 vedder
« on: February 08, 2005, 04:24:17 PM »

still dark as we arrive, nobody at the spot we picked.as we start to change in to our waders,a truck pulls up guy jumps out already in waders grabs his rod and runs down to river.buddy and i curse and start changing faster, but when we get down to river(still dark) the guy is fishing "our spot".lol.
still to dark for us fish, other guy is casting away.anyway as it starts to lighten up,i move about twenty
meters down stream of other fisherman, first cast i see my roe skein(sp) break up and fall off, damn i mutter under my breath as i reel in empty hook.second cast i hit a tree on the far bank(not light enough to judge distance yet, lol) lose everything, drennan, weight, strangely enough its right where i
hooked/snagged the drennan 3 weeks ago.
anyway as i retie everything the guy, moves off upstream about 50 meters.so now i got "my"spot
i decide to go with yarn and jensen egg.i cast out to about mid river, and just start to drift and bang
snag i think to myself, then it takes off, tom i call to my bud "ya got 1"he yells and starts laughing.now couple other guys and the guy who was fishing the spot come down and watch me play the fish,no pressure, just don t do anything stupid i say to myself.anyway after about 10 min i land a 7lbs wild doe
after a quick pic she s back on her way and i ve caught my first steelhead, ever.
it all happened so quick i can hardly rember what she looked like and because it s not a digital camera
i have wait til my bud fills up the roll, lol, cheers
