Cultus Lake April 16th
« on: April 16, 2005, 11:02:33 PM »

We were out trolling on Cultus Lake this afternoon. Two chunky Coho about 1-1/2 lbs each and a nice 14" Cutthroat. These are the best Coho I've caught there - almost double last year average size. I'm not sure what's going on but I think these Coho now just live in the lake. I happened to be looking out at another boat when nice 3+lb bright fish porpoised not twenty feet away from us. It all happens so fast but I'm sure that was a Coho as well. Last week my buddy caught two smaller Coho there but both had the adipose clipped. My two today both had their adipose still on. Willow leaf with a wedding band spinner tipped with worm did the trick. Perhaps someone knows what the deal is with these Cultus Coho.

It is always possible to catch them from shore but a boat is always the best.

As well I donot believe they can be retained but I am not sure in the regulations if there is a regulation covering coho in a lake. If there is no regulation that would mean they would have to be released. Others may have more knowledge on this.
