pictures of the seal at the cable pool June 19
« on: June 19, 2005, 07:16:15 AM »

Was out this morning at first light, there are some fish in there but they won't bite cuz they're freaked out by the seal.  Me and some other fishers took some pictures, I'll send a few to rod to post here.

that seal could eat its weight in salmon every day, it can do a lot of damage to the fish stock .

That Seal weighs a hundred pounds easy-and there's no way it can eat/digest 100 pounds of Salmon a day-that is nonsense. ::)
Damage to fish stock-those fish are 100% hatchery clones and in biological terms totally  worthless.
Whether it's Seals eating them or newbies snagging them they count for zip.

It may not eat 100lbs worth of salmon, but it could probably kill that much...

If you want to see the damage done by seals go down to the mouth of the Seymour during pink season at low tide. Two years ago, the bottom was littered with half eaten pinks.

if the natives find the seal is eating too many of their fish then i'm sure they will take care of the seal. problem solved.

They should be present in July. Yes, they are there most of August.
