A weeks fishing at Lorin lake
« on: July 03, 2005, 07:08:10 AM »

Just got back from a weeks fishing at Lorin lake . The fishing was fairly slow all week with very little in the way of hatches happening. I think this had something to do with the weather which was poor most of the week . Most days were fairly cold with rain and some unbelievable thunder and lightening storms. . We did run into some small hatches of sedges and mayflies which made for some great dry fly action though they were short lived. Most days were 5 to 20 fish days the biggest of which was 24 inches not too bad considering the amount of time spent hiding in front of the wood stove in the tent. I went to Fawn lake  for an afternoon last wednesday and landed 17 fish all on a slow sink line with a Skip Morrison nymph . A lot of people were hitting fish on chironomids and fishing was great there until supper time when the thunder and lightening started up again. I will send Rod some pictures of  the trip and see if he will post them for me. Cheers Russ

Boy, with that cloudy back drop, it sure LOOKS cold even.  That's quite the little set up with the stove you've got there!

Ya its kinda nice to fire it up and dry out the wet gear on the rainy trips. Also comes in handy on those cold moose trips.
