Went out this morning to fish for trout when i realized i had forgotten the trout gear at home. Piss me off oh well a sunny day none the less. I did have my Sturgeon gear and was fishing a body of water which was known to contain Sturgeon. So instead of not fishing at all decided to anchor in a highly unlikely spot not a hope i was thinking. I baited up with my week old dew worms and played the waiting game 10 mins went by tap tap tap, BOOM FISH ON a nice weight to it and good pull 20 min fight a nice 5 footer. Re bait 10 min later WHAM ! fish on this one's a freight train runs hard for over a minute down river. Then it turns and starts to come up off the bottom I yell it's going to jump all 8 feet plus erupt from the depths when it hits the water it goes on a torpedo like run in the top ten feet of water then leaps clear out of the water again. 30 minutes passes by and it's not out of gas but i'm nearly out my arms are pumped veins bulging when it decides to jump two more times back to back I have caught 6 footers a few times but nothing compared to this beast 45 min battle incredible. I had an audience a few boats seen it leaping and pulled in to watch they were in awe. To top it off we hooked another 3 footer not bad considering I intended to trout fish. Maybe next time ill leave the trout rods at home by mistake.

Negative on the pics it was supposed to be a trout day not a kodak moment day. I forgot the trout rods not to mention the camera. But it sure paid off having the sturggie gear.
