Hey Guys...
Thought I'd chip in my two cents worth... got out yesterday about 10 am and fished with rods in water til 4 pm. Experienced no bites, and witnessed no fish on. Had 2 people ask me if they had seen anything, and they said no. Visited about half a dozen boats down in the Caulfield Area *that area in front of a great big white mansion on a little point* and there seemed to be some activity there earlier in the morning. Otherwise, it was a quiet day. I think all the fish moved up the river. --and I decided to check out West Van on the advise of a local operator, who said that a few Coho were to be had. I fished basically everything on the North side of the bay...through the usual spots..and a bit more...but nada...
On the other hand, Allwaysfishin seems to have some good stuff to report from yesterday morning on the other side of the bay---Point Grey. However, I wasn't on that program.
Overall, a slow day on the water, and 2 slow days like this would seem to suggest that is best not to bother with West Van for a few days until some meaningful schools of fish show up.
Just think guys...12.5 million sockeye are going to show up for the Fraser this year...along with 25 million pinks!
I am on vacation all this week, and I look forward to hitting it hard a few more days this week...next trip out...the Banana off the Fraser River. Will post results here.
tightlines to all, and unless you are looking for flat calm water conditions, don't fish West Van...
