I was informed today that a fishing guide had his tires slashed at Island 22 yesterday. This is a very sad situation when you can not go out to enjoy a days fishing and worry if things will be as you left them. This is not the first time this has happened at Island 22 as a number of tires were slashed a few years ago there as well. I thought with the gate house things would have been better there now and the creell surveyors are there a lot also. Is it getting to the point the FVRD will have to hire security as we see around us now in malls, the safeway stores, some banks etc. Maybe for the $25 fee we pay we should help pay some of this. I know I would be willing to pay more if I know my things would be safe. I would suggest the person that had their tires slash should maybe approach the FVRD and give them their concerns.
Of course the Vedder is another very bad area, to bad our society has slipped to this type of activity.
