Sunshine Coast/Davis Bay August 14th
« on: August 15, 2005, 05:54:08 PM »

Nina and I took a day trip to Sunshine Coast on the 14th as she had never been there before. The weather was just perfect for a beach outing. Good ferry rides, no mechanical failures so we didn't ram any boats over. ;)

During the trip, we spent about an hour fishing on the pier at Davis Bay, just south of Sechelt. In the past, my dad and I have fished there for english soles and perch. Without bait, we were only able to use our lures, hoping to entice a pink salmon or two. Around the evening time, 6pm, not long after peak tide, we spotted some surface activities in the shallows near the weedbeds. We proceeded to cast towards a school of pinks that were finning constantly. Just before we had to leave and catch the ferry, Nina and I both managed to entice one fish each but both fish fell off the hook. :-\

A good day anyways. :)
