long weekend report" FRASER"
« on: September 06, 2005, 11:41:04 AM »

Friday Day One --- Two hours at my favorite sockeye hole limited out.                                                  Saturday day two --- Sturgeon fished for a few hours no hits and then wham fish on a 7 footer 30 to 40 min battle then released . 10 min later wham 4 footer on 15 - 20 min battle released time to go. Sunday limited out on soxs again then went Sturgeon fishing again very quiet for the first half of the day . And then all hell broke loose tap tap I get up to set the hook fish on peeling line immediatly. Now the panic is on I yell pull the anchor while buddie frantically tries to get the anchor up im loosing line at an alarming rate, and i realize im running out of line so i tourque the drag on my penn 320 all the way and start thumbing with mass amounts of pressue then the fish surfaces from the head to the 3/4 mark on the sturgeon was about ten feet. I estimate this sturgeon to be 14 feet but i'll never know snap goes the line. I have caught some big ones but i did't have a clue they could be this big wow. All weekend guys were chasing hudge fish down the river the big daddys are out there and they are feeding. I don't have my anchor set up for quick release with a scotchman but im going to from now on.
