English Bay - Sat, Sept 17th
« on: September 18, 2005, 02:31:18 PM »

We headed out at ~7am from False Creek. Perfect fishing weather and the water was flat calm.

Started trolling just past the green marker in front of the Cap to just passed the pink appartments. No action and not much showing on the sounder. Pulled in the gear and headed to Point Grey.

5 minutes after dropping the gear there, spring on and 10 minutes later in the boat. It was ~15lbs and took an anchovie at ~100ft. Lots of fish marking 80 to 100ft but no takers after that.

After a few hours I dropped off a buddy and headed back to West Van - what a zoo, I had no idea! There were guys getting gear crossed and the harbour patrol keeping people out of shipping lanes. Half hour later I headed back to False Creek. The DFO stats guy was saying he only counted one other spring all day, same size, same area.

Off to Kanuma next week...quite remote, can't wait.

Cheers,
Justin.

Got another one for ya.

Know of 2 springs caught at Pt. Grey this morn. 1 was a red about 25 lbs...the other was a white about 20 lbs.

Nice to see that it was different than last night....
