Just a head's-up for anyone who might be interested in partaking in both a
FUN fishery and a
GREAT Party
Brown's Bay Marina (15 minutes North of Campbell River) is hosting another Chum Derby on the 15th and 16th of October. The fishery targets on silverbrights (so chrome that a couple of the ladz tried to weigh in coho last year, thinking they were chumlies!!). In the chuck and in that great condition, they are incredible scrappers, amongst the better fights produced by salmon, and can achieve over 20 pounds of rollin' anger! Limits (easy that is) were the norm last year, and the action was heralded as "
Explosive"! Fishing occurs just across from the dock, so short range to medium sized rigs are quite acceptible!
I will be joining a growing bunch from FishBC (and a couple of other sites) to partake. There are over 20 FishBC'ers locked in as of today, and more coming all the time. It was an oversight that this
FUN event wasn't posted here before, something I am attempting to remedy now. It will be a great fishery, and a chance to rub shoulders with some very experienced and fun-lovin' anglers from all over BC! Truely hope some from here are able to come along and play with our motley crew!!
More info on this exciting opportunity can be found on the relevent thread over at FishBC:
http://forum.fishbc.com/index.php?showtopic=25062The cost is minimal ($ 10 clams), prizes are great, fishing is great, camraderie will be right up there, and we all expect the related festivities to be long remembered
Come along if you can Folks, we're gonna be having some
REEL FUN!Cheers,
Nog
PS: If interested, recommended to contact Kevin (MyEscape) at FishBC to reserve camping sites, and the Marina for the same regarding mooring.
