With the rain comming down isant it a little stupid to be standing in mid river like that i mean the water is allways rising. Its hard to keep your attention on the water when you got a float to keep your eye on.

Water doesn't just come up in an instant. You will have to be smart about it.

Not exactly but when you your fishing time flies and so does the water level. I remeber two years ago two anglers headed out on a sand bar and in two hours they had to call in for a rescue helicopter cuz they couldent get back.

Thanks for the help.  I actually just did a search and found some at fishusa.com for $2.25 each.  I ordered 10 of them.  Can never have enough gear.

Make sure you order the right one! Drennan is the brand, and there are many many different models of float.

Drennan Pikers and Zepplers are the ones commonly used for river fishing in BC. They are originally used for pike fishing in Europe. There are five different sizes. The smallest two sizes are for low water flows, while the larger ones are obviously for swifter water.

Drennan Loafer, Crystal Avon are great for trout and smaller salmon. These are slightly cheaper than the Pikers and Zepplers.

I got the Drennen loafer in sizes 2, 3 and 4.  Hopefully at least one of these will work.

It looks like I may have gone a little light on the float.  I'll buy some zeppers when I come up next week.
