Gorgeous day to sturgeon fish
« on: November 12, 2005, 12:38:01 AM »

On the Harrison yesterday morning for salmon and the Fraser in the afternoon for some sturgeon and wow, is this a great time of year as everyone seems to figure its time to concentrate on the big crowd hang-outs like the Chehalis for their last-ditch effort for a clean ho or two.  -Earth to mob- there are lots of fish still in all the systems! Relax and go explore! The Harrison was a little windy but still fishable in the right spots and the Fraser was an absolute ghost town, we saw only 2 other boats fishing sturgeon all afternoon. In a few short hours we had over a dozen fish to the boat, with a couple of double headers and a big pig that peeled off over 200 yrds before rolling and popping the hook out. With the interior water starting to bring the temperature down, most fish are jumping a little less when hooked, but they are still out there, pigging out and getting ready for winter. Go get 'em! ;)

Shortfloated lower end of the Harrison with colorados and roe. Picked up 1 wild ho, and a chum every 5-10 casts that are still in good shape and very aggressive toward anything bright in their sight. Only using a 20 inch, 10lb leader, they are not hook shy at all. We saw guys throwing spinners from shore at the highway bridge, and both times we went by a couple of them had fish on. You don't need a boat to find them!  ;)
