Anyone have an imput on the Pro's and Con's of the 175 Sport Jet to the American Turbine V6 ...
Looking at an 18' boat trying to decide which motor to go with.. The individual dealers speak higher of their brand of course...
Any input would be greatly appreciated

I dont know if I have ever spoken to you but the 175 is no longer available but the 200 optimax is taking its spot, the 200 opti is worth $1500.00 more than a 305 , As for the V6 you have to take in the weight difference a 4.3 is only 225 hp and weighs 534 lbs whereas the 305 takes up  6 inches more space but weighs 432 Lbs and produces 260HP. the 4.3 is ususally $280.00 more than a 305, as for buying an 18 ft boat,I would suggest you look for a little larger boat if possible as you will want to upgrade to a larger boat within a few years. you will also get a larger selection to choose from.
Give me a call if you have any questions, I like seeing people happy with the decision they make. dont forget the sportsman show is right around the corner. Take as many different boats for a test drive on a river in the conditions you will be running them. If the dealer does not do test drives walk away.

Roeman, If concidering running your boat on the upper pitt, anything larger than 19-20' is a tight squeeze in that water.
