Fraser August 8th
« on: August 08, 2004, 11:58:48 AM »

Fished Cheam for 3.5 hours this morning.  Zip for me.  Saw 6 fish landed.  Much busier people wise than last week, but last week everyone has two fish.  This week only one guy and almost everyone else was nada.

Time to head up country.  Crowds are getting heavy.

camped and fished the gill area on the weekend, fri night not much action, sat. a few fish caught, I landed one sockeye sat night, and my gf had a two up to the beach and they got off, fished sunday no luck for me but a couple of guys limited out early in the morning, alot of guys were getting limits at the spaghetti bar, also noticed several local fisherman camped out at the river who were double dipping on a daily basis, fish one bar in the morning and another in the afternoon, kinda sad to see. im hoping the fishing will pick up next weekend, kinda frustrating to fish hard for three days and only get one fish on the beach

Fished Grassy for a change and between the 200 other anglers out there there was 9 fish landed, 8 Sockeye and 1 Spring within the 6 hours of me being there. Hot streak comes to an end. :'( Nets everywhere you look and especially crossing the Port Mann Bridge......I say the river is done till atleast Wednesday.

Only 200 people on Grassy TTS? :o
Ya, I think I was maybe being generous, 250-300 sounds more accurate. ;) My Sockeye season is done, fed up with the netting, disrespect of other boaters and I have had my share of fish.

Yeah leadbelly lost a bit of gear.  It is a snaggy spot.  Wasn't my day.  this was my third time fishing Sox and based on the last two I thought it was easy - ate a little humble pie today.

Well he just may get a chance.  Although I was talking to my dad who lives in Logan Lake and he was bragging about catching a bunch of trout and having the lake to himself yesterday - maybe i'll head that was and drag arond some feathers.

YEEEE HAWWW!!!!  Giddy-up!  I finally got me a sock.  (freakin only took 4 outings).  Herrling was ok today.  Got there at the break of dawn...(yeah hubby was kind enough to drive.  as I was still loopy from the staggette i attended)  Saw an average of 1 outta 4 people getting fish.  my guess is that you need to cast pretty far.  cast far=get fish.  either that or have horseshoes up ones butt.  I joined up with my family and their friends...total 10 of us.  8 fish in total with only 6 of us actually doing the catching.  4 of us skunked...once again.  by 9am, it became almost spooky quiet.  (fish-wise). at which point it was time to go home and get some shuteye.  there were nets set up across from herrling.  are they allowed to leave em there unattended?  hmph! the nerve.  It was pretty crowded, about 5 or 6 groups of people camping out.  Lots of snags.  Lost all that pretty gear I dragged out of the river the last outing.  oh well....tight lines y'all!

Fished for 3 hours this afternoon and got zip. Saw 4-5 other fish hooked (2 springs I believe) What really pissed me off was some idiot catching and releasing Sockeye while trying to get a spring. I saw the people of STS Guiding do this yesterday as well BB with their clients. Just sickening knowing these fish won't make it in the warm water. Once you have your two, get your line out!
