See some of you there tomorrow and Saturday. I'll be setting up the CVRCC booth tomorrow afternoon and Saturday I'll be wandering around.

Thanks for promoting this event here Rod. We could use another person or two to help us with the fishing pond. These are the same fish that are stocked in our local lakes, Fraser Valley Rainbows at catchable size. Come work with the people who stock most of our lakes, they're a great source of information!  :D

See you there,

George

I would like to go but im going camping this weekend! And I would most likely go camping more than that, however I did go to something like that once when I was a really little fisherman :).
I used to love the live trout pond!

Back up to the top. Tonight's turnout was great. The new trout pond was the most popular feature for obvious reasons. All the eager kids had Chris running around to keep things in order. If you have kids, bring them out tomorrow to experience all the activities that volunteers of the Fraser Valley Salmon Society have put together. The trout pond could use a couple more volunteers to help the kids tomorrow, show up and talk to Chris and he'll put you to work.

I volunteered thru Freds Custom Tackle For Friday night and all Saturday. Had the kids trying to cast into a large fishes mouth and then mooching rod races on Sat. I think the event was well attended and the kids had fun especially at the trout pond and the fishing simulator.
Thanks for all the hours you put in during the 2 days. Was a great event for the kids and the adults too. Special thanks also must go to Pete Mc., Rob F. and Greg C. that did so much to make the event what is was. Also I should add thanks to alll the volunteers, the concession people and those that brought displays.

Excellent job by all as we must remember the future of recreational angling will soon be in the hands of these youngsters.

Saturday was also a great day!
When parents and kids got to our table at the end to pick up their certificates, some were quite shocked that they had spent 2 hours or more at a fishing show!  :o ;D
Thats awesome though, that means it was a hit and everyone was enjoying themselves.
I know the kids and I were quite tired by the time we got home, but it was a good tired. Our kids really enjoyed helping out and are already counting the days 'til the pike minnow derby... :-\ (like our life isnt busy enough already.. ;) )
Big thanks to all who volunteered and all the people that took time out of their schedule to come see the show.
(and Rod, you might want to consider buying an apartment here in the 'wack, lol)

Well done all!!

If I purchase that apartment, I'll be forced to do:

  • Saturday morning bottle runs
  • Fraser River gravel extraction observing
  • Golf ball sorting
  • Signing up on ten different committees

:o :o

Second thought, Richmond is rather peaceful... ;)

Unless you get in a car and start driving. ::)
