Well, barfish with roe for sure, but just be prepared to lose bait to small fish.
You can roe fish for bull trout all the way until late June, then that fishery slows down. Fish for pikeminnows, etc with dew worms and bread dough until the end of August. July and August are also two good months for carp. That's too bad you do not have access to transportation, because the fishing opportunities are plentiful in the summer.
July and August are two fantastic months for barfishing in the Chilliwack area.
Starting in early August the Thompson River can be excellent for rainbow trout.
The Vedder River has red chinook salmon in July and August, then coho and white chinook salmon in September and October.
Local lakes around here will continue to have rainbow trout, as the lakes are being stocked continuously by the hatchery.
