Londons Landing April 27th
« on: April 27, 2006, 08:27:50 PM »

THE COARSE FISH HAVE COME :)   Awesome day today. Fishing has really picked up this week. Went last week and caught nothing. Today got about 20 bullheads 3 mottled sculpin and a decent 9 inch starry flounder. Some guy was float fishing of the top of the pier sice it was peak tide and he caught a chub, the first one ive seen this year. He yelled that he had caught one and all the other fisherman got all worked up beause they thought it was too early for them. One guy BOOKED it up the ramp so fast he nearly tripped. lol. I was fishing with shrimp. Tons of people were keeping over their limit on bullheads :-\ Well, its better than leaving them on the pier to rot. I asked what they do with them and they say they use them in a soup. heres a pic of the flounder sry bout the kitchen shot forgot my camera :-\

We don't eat soup, we drink it. ;D

Some fish species make great soup, others... not so good. For bullhead, they go back into the drink, those don't go in my soup. ;D I prefer filleting my salmon, and save the bones and head for miso soup. :)

Londons Landing might be hard to catch a sculpin bigger than 10". But Ambleside, Cate's Park it's not uncommon to catch one that's 10"+.  The largest sculpin I've caught was 17".
